I have been researching how candles and burn and why. This is for some background knowlegde on my SRP experiemnt. this is what I hace deduced so far:
- candles burn the wick (usally made from a rope that has high levels of flamability e.g twine)
- They burn from the centre outwards, butnot evenly. Depending on the way the wick is facing it (due to wind or dodgy manufacturing), the candle will burn on one side more than the other
- when a candle burns: some of the candle truns to hot liquid wax, the rest evaporates (sometimes leaving a pleasent scent)
- the candle is its own fuel. The height and quality of the candle and its wax will determine how long it will burn.
so this is just some research that I have done. I will post some other things later
